Local Amenities
The apartment is conveniently located with shops, banks, bars, restaurants and children’s play area/park within a 5-10 mins walk (but not close enough to hear).
There is an attractive communal pool within 100 yards and several wonderful blue flag beaches are just 5-10 minutes drive.
It is easily accessible from Alicante and Murcia airports. For more information, please see the 'Getting there' section of this website.
Torrevieja is the nearest major town (15 mins drive) which offers larger amenities.
Coast/Beach
Casa Limones is also only 5-10 minutes drive from several blue flag beaches. The water is warm from April onwards and the beaches are sandy and accessible. Nearby beaches include La Zenia (Medium sized clean beach, watersports in the summer), Cabo Roig (great beach, fantastic beach bar), Mar Menor (warm shallow water attracts young & old), Guardamar local beach (sand dunes), La Marina beach (Not commercialized, some dunes) as well as many hidden coves.
Golf
The apartment is in a prime location for golfers – championship golf courses that are very close by are Campoamor, Las Ramblas and Villamartin, whilst La Finca, La Manga. Alicante and Mosa Trajectum are just a few of those within a 10-45 minute drive away. The selection of courses provides excellent facilities for all levels of golfers.
Other activities
The area also offers some of the most extensive hiking trails in the country, two marinas, tennis, sea fishing, horse riding, go karting and quad biking as well as extensive water sports facilities. For family fun, 3 water parks are nearby and the Terra Mitica theme park is approximately a 75 minute drive.
In addition, the area boasts a huge amount of artistic variety and heritage, with local attractive villages/town to visit – such as San Miguel (10 mins drive) and Elche (20 mins drive). The local markets of Playa Flamenco (Sat, 5 mins drive) and Elche (20 mins drive) are great places to purchase fresh, locally grown produce and to pick up some gifts and bargains to take home with you.
Climate
The Orihuela Costa enjoys a fantastic temperate climate and is renowned for being one of the healthiest places on earth to live, basking in over 300 days of sunshine every year and having an average temperature of around 20 degrees centigrade and very low rainfall. The hottest temperatures are during July and August when it can reach 40 degrees or more, in the winter the temperature rarely falls below 10 degrees.
